Like many, I had low expectations for the MacBook Neo, but on paper it seemed like a game-changer. How could a laptop with iPhone guts (the Neo has an iPhone A18 Pro CPU with only 8GB of RAM — pretty much the same internals as the 2025 iPhone 16 Pro) keep up with my demanding workload, let alone the fact that with my wife’s education discount (she’s a teacher), the laptop was only $499?
