The map in our pockets does take us places. But it’s a travesty if we don’t use many underrated Google Maps features to the hilt. As a wannabe photographer, I treat it as a location-scouting engine. The combination of satellite view, crowdsourced photos, data, and Street View turns it into a pre-shoot decision tool. Along the way, I have started looking at Maps like a photographer and not a commuter. Here are just a few features I fall back on.
